Me and my Camera

When I was younger I struggled to know what I wanted to do. I felt like I was being pressured to make decisions so early and frankly that scared me a lot. I didn't know what I was passionate about. I liked things, sure. But it was almost as if I didn't want to commit and say that I was passionate about them.

Photography is both a new and old hobby. Even when I was little I loved being behind a camera, taking videos and pictures. It was always something I enjoyed but I could never really pursue it for numerous reasons. So, when my 18th birthday came around in August, I decided to ask for a DSLR camera (a Nikon d5200 to be exact) and I've loved it ever since.

I love being able to capture a moment in time and to be able to create emotions and feelings with pictures. Using my camera has really made me more aware of what's around me and helped me to appreciate nature and people. It's something that makes me want to get out of bed in the morning and that, is an amazing gift to get. I still have a lot to learn about photography, and I hope in 10, 20 or even 30 years it is still something that i'm enjoying, learning and improving at.
